Supplemental Security Income
Benefit Suspension
Benefit Suspension can occur to a person who was awarded Social Security Disability (SSD) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits in the past. Benefit suspensions can occur for several reasons, but the most common reason benefits are suspended is because the person receiving benefits has been working during the time they were receiving benefits.
The reason the Social Security Administration suspends benefits to those working during the time they receive disability benefits is that when you are held to be disabled you are determined to not be able to work at all.
