Your Family May ALSO be Compensated for Your Disability
If a person is successful in getting their Social Security Disability (SSD) claim approved, often there may be collateral or family benefits available to the spouse and children in addition to the payments to the disabled individual.
When you start receiving disability benefits, certain members of your family also may qualify for benefits on your record. Benefits may be paid to your:
- Spouse
- Divorced Spouse
- Children
- Disabled Children, and/or
- In some cases, an adult child disabled before the age of 22
There are many rules and regulations regarding family benefits, including widow/widower benefits. If you have any questions or would want to discuss this further, please contact us at Drummond Disability 800-842-0426.
